I've been filming my process since the eighth grade — every layer, every correction, every hour compressed into a minute.
I work without black or gray pigment, mixing complementary colors to build my darks, the way the Impressionists did. A monochromatic filter keeps my values honest; everything else is instinct.

I began drawing at three, when my mom noticed how straight and brave my lines were and bought me art supplies. At ten, Andrea Morris became my first painting teacher and taught me for about two years. My work later explored endangered species and climate change, and I began examining the relationship between humans and animals through anthropomorphic animal characters.
My time at Stanford and the Iranian community there deepened my connection to my roots in Hamedan. Today, I use my art to share the history and culture of the Iranian people.
